COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capturing its 11th dual meet win of the season, the ninth-ranked Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team defeated Wright State by a score of 138-78 Saturday afternoon at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. The meet rounded out the Buckeyes’ dual meet campaign with an 11-1 overall record. For the day, the Buckeyes earned wins in seven races, as well as two events contested in the diving well.

The afternoon kicked off with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay by the contingent of Steven Zimmerman, DJ MacDonald, Matt McHugh and Josh Fleagle (1:29.21). Jack Hendricks followed in suit with a touch in 1:41.38 to claim the top spot in the 200 freestyle.

Fleagle earned his first individual victory of the day in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.27. Before a brief break in competition, Ching Lim captured a win in the 400 individual medley at 3:52.58.

Senior veterans Stephen Ettienne and Shane Miszkiel earned first and second-place points in the 1- and 3-meter diving events. Ettienne earned the top score on the 1-meter apparatus with 392.33 points, while Miszkiel posted a 397.65 total in the 3-meter for first.

Freshman Kevin Musterait added points for the Buckeyes, recording a first-place touch (44.88) in the 100 freestyle. McHugh had another solid showing to attain his first individual win of the meet in the 100 backstroke (49.45). Jovan Mitrovic then outlasted competition in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:36.10. 

The Buckeyes host the Ohio State Winter Invite Feb. 14-15 at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The meet will serve as a precursor for the 2015 Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, which is scheduled for Feb. 25-28 in Iowa City, Iowa.
