COLUMBUS, Ohio – The ninth-ranked Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team concluded competition at the Ohio State Winter Invitational on Sunday at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The Buckeyes took on competitors from Ball State, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Harvard, Miami (Ohio), Purdue, Toledo and Wright State.

Freshman Joey Long added first-place points for the Buckeyes with a top finish in the 1650 freestyle (15:35.96). The 200 freestyle resulted in Ohio State sweeping the top-three places, as Josh Fleagle (1:35.54) claimed first and Vladislav Komarov (1:37.95) and Alex Rosen (1:39.48) followed in second and third, respectively. Fleagle and Komarov accounted for two NCAA B-cut times.

Another B-cut time was recorded by Nick Brodie in the 50 freestyle (20.31). John Zucca then swam to a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:00.35.

Greg Nymberg had a strong showing in the 200 butterfly (1:48.40), receiving top-place accolades in the finals. The 200 individual medley was commanded by freshman Andrew Lindstorm in a time of 1:50.36 for a first-place finish.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Kevin Musterait, Nathan Christian, Jack DiSalle and Komarov produced a B-cut time of 2:59.76 to round out the evening with a first-place showing.

Next up for the Buckeyes is the 2015 Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. The meet is scheduled to take place Feb. 25-28.
