COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeyes put on a show this weekend at the OSU Ice Rink, and now two of them have earned some hardware for their efforts. Maddy Field has been named the NCAA No. 2 Star of the Week, and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week, while Lauren Boyle has earned the WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors, powered by GoodWood Hockey.

Field was a scoring machine over the weekend, scoring an NCAA-leading five goals as the Buckeyes swept Minnesota State. She tallied her first career hat trick on Friday night, and followed that up with a two-goal performance on Saturday. The junior posted a plus-five rating for the weekend, and moved into second place on the team in goals with 18, a new career high. Field has 29 points on the season, just one point shy of her career high of 30 from last season.

Boyle played fantastic defense over the weekend, helping the team secure its program record tenth shutout of the season on Friday night. In addition to hassling the Mavericks’ players all weekend, the junior also tallied five points from one goal and four assists. Boyle’s 25 points this season is a new career high.

The Buckeyes head to Minneapolis for the WCHA Final Faceoff this weekend to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the WCHA Semifinal. That game is set for a 6:07 p.m. start on Saturday, a link for the free live stream can be found here.
