COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eight victories, including four by bonus points, led the third-ranked Ohio State wrestling team (13-3) to a convincing 30-7 victory over No. 15 Edinboro in the first round of the 2015 NWCA National Duals in Edinboro, Pa. The Buckeyes, now winners of nine straight matches, advance to Iowa City, Iowa next weekend in the quarterfinals.

In the most highly-anticipated match of the day, three-time national champion Logan Stieber win by a 6-3 decision over second-ranked Mitchell Port. Stieber, who improves to 20-0 on the season, handed Port (29-1) his first loss of the 2014-15 campaign. A first-period takedown gave Stieber a 2-0 lead and only point of the second period came on a Stieber escape for a 3-1 edge. Port started down to start the third and got an escape, but a Stieber takedown and over 1:00 of riding time proved to be too much for Port to overcome.

Tomasello dominated No. 18 Kory Mines, rolling to a 13-2 victory while DiJulius was equally impressive, winning 12-1. For DiJulius, a takedown and two-point nearfall iin the second period extended a 3-0 advantage into a 7-0 lead.

After an Edinboro victory at 149 pounds, Josh Demas shutout Chase Delande at 157 pounds with a 7-0 decision. Demas had a first-period takedown, second period escape and takedown and third-period stall against Delande.

Mark Martin continued the Ohio State momentum with a 5-2 decision over No. 20 Patrick Jennings. Martin led 2-1 at the end of the second period and then got a reversal to make the score 4-1 late in the third.
