Talented alumni help Buckeyes prep for spring slate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Traveling to West Palm Beach, Fla., the Ohio State women’s golf team will take an opportunity to dust off some of the cobwebs with an alumni match-up Feb. 6. Teeing off at the par 72, 6,129-yard Wanderers Club, the No. 25 Buckeyes will play 18 holes with talented alumni as they prep for their upcoming spring slate after a three-month hiatus.

Buckeyes traveling to Florida include sophomores Amy Meier, Rachel Rohanna and Susana Benavides and junior Vicky Villanueva. The event will mark the fifth outing of the season for Meier, Rohanna and Villanueva and the fourth for Benavides.

All current or former members of the LPGA Tour, Meg Mallon, Allison Hanna and Lisa Strom will represent the Ohio State alumni, while Beth Daniel will showcase her talents for Furman University.

Each Buckeye will pair with an alumna for nine holes of best ball before rotating and playing with a different alumna for the back nine.

After returning from Florida, the squad will head to Palos Verdes, Calif., when it hosts the 16th-annual Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Feb. 14-16.
