LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 24th-ranked Ohio State women’s track and field team wrapped up day one at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet Friday at the Nutter Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
Day one events for the Buckeyes included the weight throw and triple jump. Junior Maggie Mullen led a pack of Buckeyes in the weight throw with a 10th-place throw of 17.64m. In the triple jump, junior Kelcey McKinney placed seventh overall with a leap of 12.12m to lead the trio from Ohio State.
Following Mullen in the weight were teammates Alexis Thomas (17.41m), Stephanie Enarusai (16.74m) and Katie Groseclose (14.96m) placing 14th, 17th and 29th, respectively. Ohio State’s weight throwers were exposed to some of the best in the nation as three of the Top 4 throwers in Division I this season placed 1-2-3 in the event.
In the triple jump, Rachael Mack (11.31m) placed 12th for the Scarlet and Gray and teammate Ashley Woodruff came in 17th with a jump of 10.97m. Several of the nation’s top triple jumpers also competed in Louisville.
