COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 23 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team fell to Penn State, 195.925-195.675, in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at St. John Arena.

The Buckeyes opened the meet on vault, posting a 48.700-48.625 win on the event. Taylor Harrison and Jamie Stone each tied for the event title with a 9.775.

Ohio State then earned a 48.775 on uneven bars, paced by Kaitlyn Hofland, who tied for second with a 9.825.

The Buckeyes followed by tying their season-high 49.100 on balance beam. Stefanie Merkle tied for second on the event, tallying a career-high 9.875.

Ohio State closed the meet with another season high, posting a 49.100 on floor exercise with Alexis Mattern tying for first on the event while tying her season-best 9.900.

Harrison tied her season-best 39.175 to finish third in the all-around.

The Buckeyes travel to nationally-ranked Boise State for a 9 p.m. ET meet Friday.
