COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 23 Ohio State women’s volleyball earned its second victory of the NIU Invitational Saturday, outlasting Green Bay 3-2 (29-27, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13). The Buckeyes improved to 2-0, while the Phoenix fell to 0-2.

Career-highs were reached by six Buckeyes in the match. Senior Kaitlyn Leary led the match with a career-best 22 kills along with a career-high nine digs. Also picking up career marks in kills were freshman Taylor Sandbothe and sophomore Andrea Kacsits, finishing with 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Sandbothe added five aces in the victory. Junior Erin Sekinger tied a career-best with 15 kills and classmate Taylor Sherwin totaled 68 assists for a career high.

Defensively, libero Davionna DiSalvatore had a match-high 27 digs, while freshman Valeria León had 13 digs. Kacsits led the squad with five blocks (1s, 4a) and Sandbothe finished with four blocks (2s, 2a).  

Shannon Hurley led the Phoenix with 14 kills, while Leah Van Zeeland had 12 and Taylor Kasal had 11. Libero Jillian Bauer totaled 20 digs and Katie Mroczenski had a match-best 18 blocks (7s, 11a).
