%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Ohio State women’s tennis team won its first match of the spring season by defeating West Virginia, 7-0, in Pittsburgh, Penn. The match was the Mountaineers’ second of the season.%^$

%^$In singles, the Buckeyes won all but one match in straight sets. At No. 2, Monica Rincon (Jr., Lapeer, Mich.) rallied from one set down to defeat WVU’s Anna Marie Underwood (3-6, 6-4, 6-0). Ohio State’s Kristy Dascoli (Sr., Bradenton, Fla.), ranked No. 19, posted a 6-1, 6-1, victory over Helen Adams at No. 1.%^$

%^$The Buckeyes also swept the doubles matches. At No. 1, Dascoli and Rincon won the first eight points to shut out Katherine Agustsson and Courtney Howell, 8-0.%^$

%^$The No. 22 Buckeyes have the next couple of days off from competition before they travel to Milwaukee, Wis., to face Marquette Jan. 26 and Colorado Jan. 27.%^$
