Newton, Mass. – The No. 21 Ohio State women’s soccer team fell to Boston College, 1-0, on McKenzie Meehan’s header in the 80th minute Thursday evening at Newton Soccer Field. With the loss, the Buckeyes fall to 3-1-1 while the Eagles improve to 3-2-0 on the season.

After Boston College tallied three early shots, the Buckeyes had an opportunity of their own in the 22nd minute but Marisa Wolf’s shot off a Danica Wu corner caromed off the crossbar as the game stayed scoreless.

That would be the best chance of the first half as the teams went into the break scoreless. Boston College held a 6-3 advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes with each team putting two on goal.

Things stayed scoreless until the 80th minute when Meehan put the Eagles ahead when she headed a Jana Jeffrey corner far post for her fifth goal of the season.

The Buckeyes were unable to muster anything the rest of the way as Boston College came away with the victory, snapping Ohio State’s program record 15-match unbeaten streak.

For the game, Boston College held a 14-4 advantage in shots, including 7-2 on goal.

Ohio State takes on Northeastern at 1 p.m. Sunday in Boston.
