COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s tennis team will face its third ranked opponent in the last four matches when they host the No. 5 USC Trojans on Tuesday evening.
Ranked No. 2 in the nation, the Buckeyes are coming off a victory over Arizona State on February 8 and a dominating win over No. 24 Georgia on February 10.
Ohio State is 8-0 on the season with wins over No. 10 Stanford and No. 24 Georgia in the last nine days. The Buckeyes have started the season in great form and will look to put another marquee win on their season résumé.
The Buckeyes currently have five players ranked nationally in singles and two doubles tandems in the ITA top 10. JJ Wolf, Kyle Seelig, John McNally, Tim Seibert and Alex Kobelt are currently ranked in the top 125 players in the nation while Seelig, Kobelt, Martin Joyce and Hunter Tubert are ranked No. 7 and No. 11 respectively.
USC comes to Columbus with a record of 5-2 and seven players nationally ranked in singles. Daniel Cukiermann currently sits at No. 5 in the nation while Laurens Verboven and Logan Smith are ranked 31 and 42 in the nation.
Ohio State will look to advance to 9-0 on the season before they head to Chicago for the ITA National Indoor Championships on February 15.
