Because of the adjusted tournament schedule, the match between the Buckeyes and No. 3 seed Blue Devils started with singles. The Buckeyes trailed 2-0 but posted three straight singles wins – all over Top 25 players – to take a 3-2 lead. The Blue Devils prevailed in a third set on court five to send the match to doubles. In doubles, the teams split the first two matches but Duke won on court three to claim the doubles point and the match.

Quoting Coach Melissa Schaub

“We competed hard out there. Duke is a good team and in some big moments I thought they played more aggressively. We have some really good fighters and we are going to keep getting better.”
