COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-4, 2-2 Big Ten) defeated No. 22 Utah State (6-6) 196.375-195.275 Friday in Logan, Utah, in front of 1,405 fans at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Buckeyes’ three all-arounders each set a career-best aginst the Aggies. Freshman Jill Weber (Bel Air, Md.) placed first overall with a 39.450, while freshman Kaylin Schlect (Marion, Ohio) posted a 39.175. In addition, fellow classmate Shelby Warner (Fenton, Mich.) placed fouth with a score of 39.150.

Junior Tiffanie Janke (Schaumburg, Ill.) led the Buckeyes over the Aggies on beam, 49.225-47.750, posting a 9.900. Schlect also set a career-best 9.875 while Waner tied her career-high with a 9.775.

Weber guided Ohio State to victory on vault with a 9.950 mark. In addition, Janke tied her career-best 9.900 to assist the Buckeyes in their 49.050-48.950 victory on vault. Senior Rickee Wirtzberger (Madison,Ohio) and Schlecht each tied their personal-highs with 9.750 marks.

The Buckeys tied Utah State on bars. Ohio State was led by Schlect, who scored a 9.850. Junior Megan Porter (Elmhurst, Ill.), Weber and Warner each posted a 9.825.

The Buckeyes only loss on the evening came on floor, (49.025-49.500). Warner led the Buckeyes in the event as she posted a 9.850. Sophomore Elizabeth Meaney (Ashtabula, Ohio), Weber and Janke each recorded a 9.825

Ohio State will be back in action Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. ET when they host the All-Ohio Championships at St. John Arena.
