COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State field hockey program, under the direction of head coach Anne Wilkinson, placed nine players on the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. It marks the eighth-consecutive season the Buckeyes have had at least nine members named to the national academic list. In addition, the Buckeyes were recognized by Gladiator and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with the National Academic Team Award for sporting a team grade-point average above 3.0.

Senior Arielle Cowie, senior Mona Frommhold, senior Nora Murer, senior Maria Swartz, sophomore Sydney Stype, freshman Brooke Hiltz, senior Sophia Pifer, freshman Chelsea Quinn and freshman Maggie Reddecliff all earned the accolade. For Cowie, Murer and Swartz, it is their fourth-consecutive honor.

The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year. Additionally, Quinn, Reddecliff and Pifer earned Scholars of Distinction honors for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher though the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.
