COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nine members of the 2020 Ohio State men’s lacrosse team graduated earlier this month. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Ohio State held a virtual commencement this year.
While eight of the Buckeye graduates earned their bachelor’s degree, Lukas Buckley picked up his master’s degree in business/finance from the Fisher College of Business. Buckley was one of nine student-athletes in the department to be a five-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.
Among those receiving their bachelor’s degrees in sport industry were three-time All-Americans Tre Leclaire and Ryan Terefenko. The duo, which will return to Columbus for another season in 2021, has helped the Buckeyes go 37-16 since the start of the 2017 season. Leclaire is the program’s No. 2 all-time leading goal scorer (135) while Terefenko is the active career leader in ground balls with 139.
Three key members of Ohio State’s defense – SSDM Brandon Barker and close defenders Joey Salisbury and Caleb Mahoney – also completed their degrees. That trio help the Buckeyes become the conference’s No. 1-ranked scoring defense (10.14 goals allowed/game). Another member of that unit – goalie Josh Kirson – ranked first in the conference in goals against average (10.19), saves per game (13.43) and save percentage (.584). A four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, he graduated with his degree in finance.
