Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State is 18-4-2 all-time in season-openers. Under Head Coach Nadine Muzerall, the Buckeyes are 6-1-0 in the first game of the season.
- The team starts the year with three road series. Following this weekend at Colgate, Ohio State travels to Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 13-14) and St. Thomas (Oct. 20-21). The Buckeyes' home-opener is set for Oct. 27-28 against Minnesota at the OSU Ice Rink.
- Ohio State returned 14 of its letterwinners from the 2022-23 squad that finished 33-6-2 overall and 23-4-1 in WCHA play. Among the returners are five of the team's top 10 point producers and six of the top 10 scorers.
- This year's roster of 24 players hails from three countries - United States, Canada and Sweden. Eight states (California, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas) and four Canadian provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario) are represented on the roster.
- After finishing runner-up at the 2023 Frozen Four, the Buckeyes start the year ranked No. 2 in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls. This is the fourth consecutive year Ohio State has started the season ranked in the top five nationally.
- For the eighth year in program history, Ohio State starts its regular season schedule in September. The Buckeyes are 12-0-0 in games played in September.
- Muzerall, who is in her eighth season at the helm of the Buckeyes, has earned a 160-69-19 career record. She has led the Buckeyes to consecutive 30-win seasons for back-to-back seasons with school record wins.
- 2023 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Top-10 finalist Jenn Gardiner will captain the 2023-24 Buckeyes, with Lauren Bernard and Jenna Buglioni serving as assistant captains.
- Gardiner, Cayla Barnes and Amanda Thiele were named to the Preseason All-WCHA Team. Ohio State has placed three players on the preseason all-conference team the last two seasons.

- The Buckeyes' roster is full of collegiate experience with 10 players who are playing their fifth and final season of eligibility this year and six entering their fourth NCAA season.
