Michelle Williams

Freestyle, Butterfly

Michelle Williams, a senior on the women’s swimming and diving team, recently helped the Buckeyes to a fourth-place finish at the 2014 Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. She placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, fourth in the 100 freestyle and was a member of both the 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay. Williams is also an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten selection who will graduate with a degree in exercise science.
Student Life
Do you prefer the Oval in the Fall or Spring (or maybe the Winter)? Spring! Puppies and sun tanning!
Where is the best place to sit for lectures? Middle, closer to the front
Most underrated place to study on campus? 3rd floor library sun room, lots of natural light which is great for studying
Why did you choose to major in exercise science? Because exercise is like medicine, and with growing rates of heart disease and obesity, people are just now beginning to realize the importance of physical activity as a health tool. I want a career in healthcare, and this degree gives a good science background
If you were the University President for a day, what would you do? Build a lazy river around the oval
Describe your first day as a student at The Ohio State University? I looked like a tourist – This was before I had a GPS on my phone, so I used a fold out paper map to find all my classes.

What is your top skill? What skill do you need to improve? My top skill is upper body strength. I could improve by balancing out my stroke with more legs.
