Buckeyes Compete at U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s golf sophomore Amy Meier and future Buckeye Kendall Prince each competed at a U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifier Monday for a spot to compete among the world’s best at the U.S. Women’s Open. Meier finished as the second alternate out of the Chicago district, while Prince earned first alternate from the Washington district.
The U.S. Women’s Open takes place at the Broadmoor Country Club – East Course in Colorado Springs, Colo., July 7-10.
After taking only a day off following the NCAA Championships, Meier traveled to Chicago and teed off on the par 73, 6,392 yard Westmoreland Golf Course. The Rochester Hills, Mich., product carded a 2-over 148 (75-73) to finish tied for fifth and earn the second alternate out of the district.
Prince, an upcoming freshman for the Buckeyes next season, earned first alternate honors after finishing with a 10-over 154. The Lake Oswego, Oregon, native notched a round one score of 78 and followed with a 76 in round two on the par 72, 6,492 yard Royal Oaks Course in Vancouver, Wash.
