Columbus, Ohio- The 2013 NCAA Rifle Championships, held at Converse Hall and French Field House on the campus of the Ohio State University, came to an end Saturday afternoon.

West Virginia took home the gold, winning its nation-best 15th national title with a two-day total score of 4679. Senior Petra Zublasing captured both the smallbore and air rifle individual championships, becoming the first to sweep the individual competions since 2001. Zublasing won the smallbore championship with a combined score of 688.3 and the air rifle championship with a 701.7.

Kentucky posted a combined score of 4670 to finish as the runner-up; while TCU (4664), Alaska (4661) and Air Force (4658) rounded out the top-five. Army (4644), Nebraska (4643) and Jacksonville State (4621) finished sixth through eighth, respectively.

Amanda Luoma, a junior at Ohio State, was the lone Buckeye competing in the NCAA championship field. The Cortland, Ohio native found success in Friday’s smallbore competition, shooting a 580 (99-99-93-96-99-94), which put her into the individual final. In the final Luoma fired a 94.2 and finished with an eighth-place finish.

Luoma also competed in the air rifle competition Saturday, finishing 41st overall with a score of 579.
