COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s hockey head coach Nadine Muzerall announced Tuesday the signing of Stephanie Markowski for the 2023-24 season. Markowski, a graduate transfer, joins the Buckeyes after four seasons at Clarkson.

A defender from Edmonton, Alberta, Markowski has played with Hockey Canada since 2016. Most recently, she was named to the 2022-23 National Women’s Development Team and played alongside Buckeyes Jenn Gardiner and Raygan Kirk in the series against the United States last August as well as the team’s summer showcase. She helped Canada win gold at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships and silver at the 2016 and 2017 tournaments.

At Clarkson, Markowski tallied 32 points (9 G, 23 A) and blocked a team-high 82 shots last season, helping the Golden Knights to top-10 regular season rankings in scoring defense, goals against average and shutouts. Markowski was a member of three NCAA tournament teams at Clarkson.

Markowski joins Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka as a spring signee for the Buckeyes.
