COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s soccer team earned the No. 6 seed for the 2008 Big Ten Tournament and will face third-seeded Indiana at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis. The event, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, runs Nov. 13-16.
Ohio State finished the regular season 9-7-2 overall and 2-4-0 in the Big Ten.
Michigan State earned the regular season title and No. 1 seed with a 5-1 conference mark. It earned a bye into the semifinal and will play the winner of the No. 4 Northwestern/No. 5 Penn State match on Friday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. CT. The Wildcats and Nittany Lions square off in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. CT.
The third quarterfinal matchup features No. 2 Michigan and No. 7 Wisconsin on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. CT. That winner will face the winner of the Buckeyes-Hoosiers matchup on Friday at 1:30 p.m. CT in the semifinals.
Both semifinal matches, as well as the final on Sunday at Noon CT will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Ohio State is in search of its third conference title. The Buckeyes won last year’s crown with a 5-4 penalty kick decision over Indiana after the two teams battled to a scoreless tie. Earlier this season, Indiana defeated Ohio State 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 26.
