Notes – Mississippi State

Cliff Wren extended his hitting streak to nine games with hisfirst inning single. He has now hit safely in 23 of his last 24games.
Jon Knott became the fourth MSU player to hit a grand slam in theregional tournament. The slam was his first of his career and thefirst for the team this year.
Ty Martin tied an MSU regional record with his two home runs.
MSU’s six home runs sets a Bill Davis Stadium record for home runsin a game by one team. It also ties a MSU regional tournamentrecord for single game home runs. In addition, it ties a seasonhigh, set against UAB (4/20).
Matt Ginter moved into ninth on the single season strikeout listwith his six strikeouts today. He now has 108 on the season.
Travis Chapman moved into sixth place on the single season hitslist with his three-hit game today. He now has 96 on the season,passing Rafael Palmeiro and Jeff Cohen.
