COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Minori Minagawa used a personal-best time of 36:34.58 to win the 10,000-meter run Saturday at the 2014 All-Ohio Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio, highlighting the weekend trip for the Ohio State women’s track and field team.

Minagawa was the lone winner of the eight Buckeyes competing at the All-Ohio meet, but several athletes turned in impressive performances. Fellow distance runners Kaitlyn Willette and Rebecca Rings posted solid times in the 800 meters, with Willette, a freshman, placing third in 2:13.21 and Rings, a sophomore, taking fifth in 2:14.64. Freshman Sahara Fletcher also represented the distance crew well, finishing fourth in the 1500 meters in 4:47.08.

In the sprints, sophomore Aaliyah Everson used a personal-best time of 23.68 to place second overall in the 200. Junior Carly Pendleton was the Buckeye leader in the field with a fourth-place finish in the discus at 47.33 meters (155-3.00).

Ohio State returns to action next Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, as hosts of the Jesse Owens Track Classic.
