Patrick Schafer, a sophomore forward on the men’s hockey team, sat down with to talk about the team’s series with No. 2-ranked Notre Dame this weekend, along with looking back at the team’s journey to take on the Alaska Nanooks.

The No. 15-ranked Buckeyes will host the No. 2-ranked Irish at 8:05 p.m. Friday and 2:05 p.m. Sunday in Value City Arena. Ohio State enters the series tied for fourth in the CCHA, with Notre Dame holding down first place.

Friday is Date Night; for only $22 fans receive two tickets, two pizzas, two sodas and two OSU Ice Rink passes. Sunday is Quarter Dog Day, with 25-cent hot dogs available (while supplies last). It also is Racing Day in Value City Arena, with race cars on display on the course. Thundersticks will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans and there will be a postgame autograph session. Postgame skates will be held on the ice following both games for fans who bring their own skates.
