Ohio State is just one week away from the start of 2010 season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – In a change of pace from past years, the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team will host the Varsity Exhibition at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John Arena, the team’s competition site and venue for the 2010 Big Ten Championships.
The Varsity Exhibition, which welcomes OSU alumni, as well as family and program supporters, has been held in the Buckeyes’ practice facility, Steelwood Athletic Training Facility, the past few years. However, head coach Miles Avery is taking advantage of every chance the team has to compete in St. John Arena before the conference championships in April.
Serving as the Buckeyes’ final warm-up before the 2010 season kicks off at the 40th-annual Windy City Invitational at 8 p.m. EST Jan. 16 in Chicago, Avery and the Ohio State coaching staff will have one final look at the squad in a competition setting. In addition, Avery will announce the 2010 captains as voted by the team.
