COLUMBUS, Ohio – Juniors Scott Green and Ross Wilson, members of the Ohio State men’s tennis team, advanced to the semifinal round of doubles play Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn. Green and Wilson became the first Buckeyes in program history to reach the semifinals of a national tournament. The OSU pair defeated Shannon Buck and Tyler McClung of Air Force, 8-5, in quarterfinal action.

Green and Wilson will face Mississippi State’s Luis Carvalho and Jose-Carlos Pinto at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Green (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) and Wilson (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo St. Francis de Sales) were placed in the main draw of the tournament bracket which consisted of 32 teams. The OSU tandem defeated Duke’s Peter Rodriggues and Jonathan Stokke, 8-2, in the Round of 32 and topped Pepperdine’s Scott Doerner and Pedro Rico, 8-4.

In 2004, Green and Wilson had 12 wins at the No. 2 doubles position and were 3-1 against Top 25 opponents with upsets over top-ranked opponents from Alabama, Clemson and Illinois. The pair was ranked as high as No. 19 in the ITA doubles polls Jan. 24 and finished the season ranked No. 7 in the Midwest Region IV rankings.
