COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s tennis juniors Scott Green and Ross Wilson captured the doubles title Sunday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn. With the crown, the pair became the first OSU doubles team to claim a national tournament title in program history. Green and Wilson defeated New Mexico’s David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland, 9-7, in the final championship match.

Green (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) and Wilson (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo St. Francis de Sales) went 5-0 in tournament play after receiving a bid to the main draw of doubles competition at the ITA All-American Championship. The OSU tandem was placed into the main draw by virtue of winning the doubles title at the ITA National Summer Championship in August. Green and Wilson were unseeded but registered four Top-25 victories en route to the title. They are only the second Big Ten duo to win the ITA All-American doubles title, joining 2002 champions Michael Calkins and Amer Delic of Illinois.

The ITA All-American Championships are the first of three national tournaments held during the collegiate tennis season. The second tournament is the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Nov. 4-7 in Ann Arbor, Mich., followed by the season-ending NCAA Championships in May.
