Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team (8-0) concluded a record-setting weekend at the Mike Peppe Aquatic center with a 149.50-93.50 win over Big Ten rival Indiana.

Brian Malich (Sr., Mason, Ohio/El Dorado Calif.) led off the 400 freestyle relay with a time of :44.15, setting a Peppe Pool record in the 50 freestyle. The previous night, in a 149-89 win over Ball State, the 200 freestyle relay team of Brandon Deters (So., GrandHaven, Mich./Grand Haven), Malich, Travis Carter (Jr., Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley) and Nick Cheney (Jr., Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) broke the Peppe pool record with a time of 1:21.24.

OSU won eight of 13 events in the win over Indiana. In addition to his record-setting performance in the 400 freestyle relay, Malich was a double-winner in the 100 freestyle (:44.90) and the 200 freestyle (1:38.02). Carter took first in both the 500 freestyle (4:36.70) and the 400 individual medley (3:59.38).

Ohio State will play host to Kenyon on Friday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. in a co-ed meet at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center.
