The Ohio State University men’s soccer team upset No. 5 Penn State today, 1-0, at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in their last home game of the season. The Buckeyes improve their record to 10-4-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the Big Ten.
Senior forward Peterson Jerome (Spring Valley, N.Y.) led the offensive attack for the Buckeyes, scoring the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute assited by Brooks Humphreys (Jr., Spring, Texas). The tight defensive play from both teams allowed the game to remain scoreless in the second half.
Ohio State’s goalkeeper, Kerry Thompson (Jr., Dublin, Ohio) earned his sixth shutout of the season, making three saves against the Nittany Lions. %^$ %^$The Buckeyes travel to Bloomington, Ind. to face the No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m.%^$
