COLUMBUS, Ohio – Twenty six members of the 2021 Ohio State men’s soccer team earned OSU Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2020-21 academic year, the Ohio State Department of Athletics announced Monday.
The group was part of 799 Ohio State student-athletes recognized with the honor.
Several graduating seniors highlight the impressive list.
Matteo Bennati, Mitch Bergman, Samuel Buzzas Joshua Jackson-Ketchup, Xavier Kennedy, Luke Kiley, Noah Lawrence and Joe Ortiz were all recognized for their academic accomplishments after playing their final season in the 2021 Spring season.
Freshman Laurence Wootton, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and member of the First Team All-Big Ten squad, also earned academic recognition. Classmate, Parker Grinstead, also joined Wootton on the Big Ten All Freshman Team in the spring.
To receive the OSU Scholar Athlete distinction, student-athletes must carry a 3.0 or better grade-point average.
