COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State mens lacrosse team fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter of their Great Western Lacrosse League game with Air Force, but clawed their way back to come away with a 7-6 victory over the Falcons before 195 at Falcon Lacrosse Field. Ohio State improves to 8-3 overall, 2-1 in the GWLL while Air Force falls to 2-10 overall, 0-3 in the GWLL.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Falcons’ Scott Seigfried scored three straight goals to open the second quarter. It was not until a Tim Houston (Jr., Garden City, N.J.) goal with 3:59 left before halftime that the Bucks found the net. Greg Zytkowski (Jr., North Olmstead, Ohio) scored the second Buckeye goal, his first of two on the day, with just 0:11 left before halftime to cut the deficit to 4-2.

In overtime, one of the heroes of the Buckeyes other overtime game this season, a 5-4 win over Notre Dame, Kevin Stephan (Fr., Massapequa, N.Y.)found the net 2:51 seconds into the extra time to send the Buckeyes to victory.

The Buckeyes managed only 15 shots on the afternoon, but converted 2 of 3 extra-man opportunities. Mike Abeles (Jr., Westfield, N.J.) stopped 9 Falcon shots.
