Ohio State head coach John Markell
On the Penalties
“It was a scrappy game. Undiscerning penalties cost us. They cost us momentum and almost the game. We can turn this into a lesson. We had the opportunity to finish them and we did not. We have to turn a negative into a positive. We have to learn from it.”

“We should not have given them the chance to call the penalty.”

On the team’s penalty killing
“We have done a good job all year. We killed the five-minute penalty and scored a power play goal. We have four sets of penalty kill lines and it paid off today.”

On junior Dave Steckel
“He has been playing well all season and his line has been playing well.”

On the two-game series
“It was a good weekend. We can take a lot from it.”
