COLUMBUS, Ohio Chris Reed, a freshman defenseman on the Ohio State men’s hockey team, is an honorable nation CCHA All-Rookie Team selection, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced Monday.

Reed, a native of Solon, Ohio, played in 40-of-41 games for the Buckeyes in 2007-08, posting six assists. He was +1 or better in 12 games and was even or better in 27. He posted a season-best two assists vs. St. Lawrence Dec. 7 in Columbus. In addition, Reed had 32 recorded blocked shots on the year.

He is the 24th Buckeye to earn league all-rookie team honors (9 first team, 15 honorable mention) and the fifth in the last four years.
