COLUMBUS, Ohio Head coach John Markell and sophomores Peter Boyd, John Albert, and Chris Reed spoke to the media Wednesday to talk about this weekend’s series against No. 11 Michigan State.

The Buckeyes (2-5-1, 1-4-1-1 CCHA) return home for two games against the Spartans (4-2-2, 2-0-2-2 CCHA). The teams will meet in a two-game Central Collegiate Hockey Association series at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Value City Arena.

At the game Friday, the OSU Athletic Band will perform Script Ohio on Ice and thundersticks will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans. It is Zoo at OSU Night, with animals from the Columbus Zoo at the arena pregame. There will be a postgame skate on the VCA ice for fans who bring their own skates.

Saturday is Military Appreciation Night and free mini American flags will be handed out to the first 2,500 fans courtesy of Operation Military Kids Program. It will be a celebration of the Buckeyes’ 1998 NCAA Frozen Four team and there will be a Meet the Buckeyes postgame autograph session.
