COLUMBUS, Ohio – Justin Collins, a four-time all-Ohio First Team selection from Ironton, Ohio, has signed an NCAA national letter of intent to play for Buckeye head men’s golf coach Jim Brown.

“I feel like he was the best player in Ohio last year,” Brown said. “We are real excited he chose Ohio State. I think he is capable of coming in and contributing immediately next year.”

Collins has compiled a long list of accomplishments.

Named Prep “All-American” by the National Athletic MeritEndorsement Service (NAMES).
Selected to the Top 100 High School All-Americans by the nationalrecruiting service.
Four time all-Ohio First Team Selection.
Led Ironton High School to three-consecutive Ohio High School stategolf championships (ties state record).
Individual state finishes: Freshman–4th; Sophomore–2nd;Junior–1st; Senior–T 1st (lost in playoff).
1997 Ohio High School Individual Champion…played on The OhioState University Scarlet Course…shot 69/70 for a 139 to set newcourse record for Ohio High School state tournaments.
Three-time Ohio Junior Champion (1996. ’97, ’98). Ties JackNicklaus as only person to win three-consecutive titles.
Selected American Junior Golf Association “Exempt” player (1997,’98, ’99).
Three AJGA Top 5 finishes.
AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions Participant.
AJGA Boys Junior Championship Participant.
Won 1997 USGA Junior Qualifier, Muirfield Village Country Club,Columbus, Ohio with record score 68/72 (140 over a field of397).
Won 1996 Optimist International Tournament at PGA National 14-15age division.
