COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four members of the Ohio State men’s epee squad traveled to New York, N.Y., to compete in the 2012 United States Collegiate Squad Championships Sunday. The group downed Haverford and Columbia to collect bronze.

The Ohio State fencing team continues its 2012 campaign at the Midwest Fencing Conference championships March 3-4 in South Bend, Ind.

Kristian Boyadzhiev, Daniel Tafoya, Gavin Medley and Narayan Pathi formed the bronze-winning group. The Buckeyes opened the event with a 45-16 win over Haverford in the Round of 16 before downing Columbia, 45-36, in the quarterfinals.

Top-seeded St. John’s ended Ohio State’s run with a 43-33 victory in the semifinals.

Boyadzhiev led the Scarlet and Gray with 43 touches at the event. Tafoya collected 41 while Medley added 34 and Pathi notched five in one appearance.
