Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team finished ninth at the 2006 Great Lakes Regional Championships Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio. John Ealy, a junior co-captain, turned in the top mark for the Buckeyes, finishing 13th overall. Sarah Foster, a freshman, led the women’s team with a 42nd-place time.
The men’s team totaled 232 points with two runners crossing the finish line in the Top 30. Ealy ran the 10K race in 31:34.29 to take 13th. Fellow junior Alex Bailey also placed in the Top 30, taking 28th in 31:56.11.
Foster was 42nd with a 6K time of 22:23.53. Sophomore Rachel Stichter also finished in the Top 50 with a time of 22:30.15 for 48th.
The men’s team awaits a possible at-large selection to the 2006 NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. The NCAA will announce qualifiers Monday.
