With the season closing in, get to know the Buckeye hockey newcomers.
The series continues with No. 44 Dalton Messina, a forward from Macomb, Michigan.
Messina played in the USHL the last three seasons, spending the last year and a half in Youngstown. He started 2017-18 with Cedar Rapids, serving as the team captain, before moving to Youngstown during that season.
Why did you choose your number at Ohio State?
I wear No. 44 because of Todd Bertuzzi and his contributions to the Detroit Red Wings. I likes who he is as a player and respect his aggression on the ice.

Describe your perfect off day.
My perfect day off is just relaxing with my teammates, watching movies and playing video games.
When did you first start playing hockey? Did you play any other sports when you were younger?
