COLUMBUS, Ohio – Caley McGinty has earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, announced by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Friday.
This is McGinty’s first All-America nod as a Buckeye; she earned Honorable Mention All-America in 2020 and Second Team All-America honors in 2021 while she was at Kent State.
McGinty had a phenomenal year for the Buckeyes. During the spring season, she placed in the top-five in three of the tournaments she competed in. She claimed her first individual win as a Buckeye at the Westbrook Invitational.
McGinty finished second at the Mountain View Collegiate, where she broke an Ohio State women’s golf program record; she shot the lowest 18-hole round in program history on the final day with a nine-under 63. McGinty, who finished tied for 13th at the Big Ten Championships, earned B1G Golfer of the Week honors three times throughout the 2022-23 regular season.
McGinty also competed at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, tying for 20th place with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4), and she will compete for Team International at the Arnold Palmer Cup next month.
