Ohio State’s Evan Turner garners his second weekly accolade of the season after leading the Buckeyes to a pair of conference victories last week. The Chicago, Ill., native netted a career-high 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds in Saturday’s 93-81 win over the Hoosiers, earning his fifth double-double of the season and seventh of his career at Ohio State. Earlier in the week, Turner recorded 24 points on 6-of-9 (.667) shooting from the field and went 12-of-13 (.923) from the charity stripe to lead his team over the Wolverines. Overall, the Buckeye sophomore is shooting 52 percent (109-of-211) from the field this season, improving from last year’s tally when he connected on 109-of-232 (.470) in 37 games. Turner averaged 26.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over the last two outings in 78 minutes of action. He connected on 70 percent of his field goals (16-of-23) and 91 percent of his foul shots (21-of-23). This is the second weekly laurel for Turner, who earned his first on Dec. 8, 2008.
