Mara Hunter: Born A Buckeye

Ohio State field hockey sophomore Mara Hunter battled through cancer to fulfill her dream of becoming a Buckeye.

Ohio State sophomore Mara Hunter was a star at nearby Olentangy Liberty High School. She was born and raised a Buckeye and she wanted nothing more than to wear the scarlet and gray.

In the spring of 2015, after a tremendous sophomore season for the Patriots, she fell ill and it was soon discovered that she had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

 

 

Mara’s journey to battle cancer and overcoming incredible adversity to become a Buckeye inspired those around her. Take a look back with Mara as she and her biggest supporters reflect on her fight.
