Columbus, Ohio – Lisa Grubb, a junior forward on the Ohio State women’s soccer team (8-2-3, 4-0-3 Big Ten), gained a spot on the Oct. 12 Elite Team of the Week after scoring three goals and accounting for an assist in the Buckeyes’ wins over Northwestern and Illinois at home last weekend.

Grubb, from Portage, Mich., netted both goals in the 2-1 victory over the Wildcats Friday before heading in her third score of the homestand against Illinois Sunday. Grubb also assisted Ohio State’s final goal of the weekend, feeding teammate Liz Mumley (Sr., Woodbridge, Va.) for game-sealing tally.

Grubb, Ohio State’s offensive MVP from 2001 and 2002, leads the Buckeyes with seven goals and 16 points on the year.

Ohio State resumes Big Ten play Friday night at Minnesota. The game is set for a 7 p.m. (CDT) kick off.
