I am emailing you all from the media room at the tournament. We just finished our interviews. Sorry I couldn’t write last night but we were too busy having fun at the opening ceremonies. It was great. We all marched in with our flag and were able to trade pins with all of the other countries. After the ceremonies we gathered in a large banquet hall and ate from all the different food stations they had. It was delicious. They had pasta, sushi, roast beef, salad, and my favourite, the chocolate covered strawberries! They even had a live band. We hit the casino last night, and once again it was a good night! (I think I should quit while I am ahead!). Today was the first round of competition. We played the River Course and that seems like probably the tougher of the two. Canada had a fantastic day! MaryAnn was our leader (and the tournament leader) shooting a 65. It was really exciting and she played very steady. Laura shot a great round of 70, and I was 73. Canada is in the lead right now! We are at a 7 under-par total, two shots ahead of the other teams. It was a really fantastic way to start off the tournament and we are looking forward to the next three days. We’re all really hungry so we are heading to dinner now. Tommorow we tee off the Ocean Course starting at 8:30. Hope all is great at home and keep sending us the good golfing vibes!
