WILMETTE, Ill. – Lina Aguillon bested 80 competitors to place second at the Windy City Collegiate. The tournament runner-up is now 3-for-3 on top-25 finishes during her Buckeye career. As a team, Ohio State blazed the course to the tune of 285 on the final day, the lowest round of the entire event and seven strokes better than all others on Tuesday.

Ohio State’s final round surge lifted the Buckeyes six slots in the team standings, going from a tie for 12th into a final resting place of sixth. Katja Pogacar ignited the flame with a 4-under 68 that included five birdies in her final eight holes. For the tournament she grabbed a share of 13th place, matching teammate Jan Chanpalangsri’s 221 (+5).

Jessica Porvasnik came in at T-37th, saving her best for last with a third-round 72 (77-79-72; +12). Claudia Lim did the same, posting her lowest score on the third try. The senior tied for 52nd place by registering a 15-over 231 (79-78-74). Zoe-Beth Brake was the team’s best performer in round number one, posting an even-par 72. Overall, she placed T-58th at 17-over.

Chanpalangsri buried 11 birdies over two days, the second highest total in the field. Her 2-under scoring on Par 3s ranked second as well. Aguillon made her mark on the Par 4s, dipping a tournament-best two shots under par on such holes.
