Ohio State freshman forward Lara Dickenmann (Kriens, Switzerland) was named to the Elite Team of the Week Thursday. The honor comes after she helped lead the No. 19 Buckeyes to a 2-1 victory over Michigan State last Friday and a 1-1 tie with Michigan last Sunday.

In the two matches last weekend, Dickenmann struck 15 shots, including 11 against the Wolverines. Dickenmann accounted for two of OSU’s three goals last weekend and now leads the team with 47 attempts in nine matches. Dickenmann averages 5.22 shots per game, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten.

On the season, Dickenmann is second on the team in points with 11. She also is second on the team in assists with three and tied with teammates Lisa Grubb (Jr., Portage, Mich.) and Heather Miller (Sr., Centerville, Ohio) for second on the team in goals with four. Dickenamnn also is one of five Buckeyes who have scored at least one game-winning goal, coming in Ohio State’s 4-1 victory over Virginia Tech, Sept. 12.

The Buckeyes are in action this weekend at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium with a pair of Big Ten matches starting 7:30 p.m. Friday against Northwestern and continuing at noon Sunday against Illinois.
