COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State softball head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly has announced the addition of Jordan Clark as an assistant coach to her staff. Clark has spent the last three seasons at Arkansas, serving as a volunteer assistant coach.
“Jordan brings knowledge, competitiveness and enthusiasm to our program,” said Kovach Schoenly. “She is a dynamic coach with the ability to help in various aspects of the game and recruiting. She has learned from a staff that I deeply respect. Our program is aiming for the Super Regionals and World Series. Jordan experienced the Super Regionals this past season and learned what it takes to develop players and scout at the level necessary to get there.”
Clark helped the Razorbacks to consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and 2018, including the Super Regionals this past season. She was part of a staff that was named the 2018 NFCA Division I South Region Staff of the Year after leading the squad to 42 wins, the third most in program history. The 2018 Razorbacks finished the season with a 27-2 record on their home field, a new record for home wins in a single season. During her time in Fayetteville, Clark served as the first-base coach while working directly with Arkansas’ outfielders and the team’s base running.
“Ohio State got a good one in Jordan Clark,” said Arkansas head coach Courtney Deifel. “She has a great knowledge of the game and a passion that is infectious. She has been instrumental in the success we have had here at Arkansas and her impact will continue even after her departure. She is an incredible leader, an avid worker and is going to put everything into it. Jordan is one of the brightest young coaches in the game and Ohio State will benefit greatly from her being on staff. I wish her the best of luck and will always be grateful that she was a part of the Razorback softball family.”
Clark’s addition is a reunion of sorts seeing as she was a four-year standout at Miami (OH) under Kovach Schoenly from 2009-12. She finished her playing career with top-five program rankings in at-bats, runs, hits and walks. She was a two-year team captain, two-time Mid-American Conference performer and the 2012 recipient of the MAC’s Nan Harvey Sportsmanship Award. Clark helped Miami to a pair of MAC Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament berths both in 2009 and 2012.

Prior to her time at Arkansas, Clark spent two years as an instructor with Diamond Athletics. In the role, she provided one-on-one lessons and organized skills clinics. Clark was also a coach in the Desoto County School District. She also has past experience in travel ball as a co-head coach for the 14U softball team within the New Jersey Intensity program.
