Ohio State men’s hockey captain Mason Jobst was named the program’s Buckeye Power Club honoree for 2017-18, as selected by the Ohio State strength and conditioning staff.
This award is given annually to one or more student athlete(s) from each team. Athlete(s) chosen must exemplify specific qualities in the weight room – leadership ability, work ethic, winning attitude, attendance and above average ability to follow instructions. Each athlete chosen is eligible for National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-America honors the following year.
Jobst, a forward from Speedway, Indiana, was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten All-Tournament Team honoree as a junior in 2017-18, helping the squad to a second straight NCAA appearance and the NCAA Frozen Four. He had a team-high 21 goals, adding 22 assists for 43 points. An All-American in 2017, Jobst has 128 career points in 114 games in the Scarlet and Gray.
