What has become an annual tradition for the Ohio State men’s hockey program took place over the weekend. The Buckeyes wore special Military Appreciation jerseys, which are now being auctioned, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting United Heroes League. The squad has worn – and auctioned to benefit charity – Military Appreciation jerseys each year since 2009-10.
Prior to the game Friday, Buckeye head coach Steve Rohlik presented a check for $15,500 from last year’s jersey auction to UHL.
United Heroes League works to ensure children of military service members are afforded opportunities to participate in sports. The organization has provided free sports equipment, game tickets, cash grants, sports camps and special experiences to military families across the United States and Canada.
The jersey auction, at the link above, runs through 5 p.m. ET Feb. 10.
