COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State women’s tennis team will be one of 15 host sites for the 2022 ITA Kickoff Weekend. The annual draft was held this week, and the No. 12 Buckeyes will welcome No. 17 LSU, No. 18 Tennessee and No. 39 Oklahoma State for two matches.
In the first round Jan. 29, 2022, the Buckeyes will face the Cowgirls and the Tigers will take on the Lady Vols in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. The winners and losers will meet on day two (Jan. 30), with the site champion advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. The 15 site champions will join host Wisconsin Feb. 11-14 in Madison, Wis.
This is the 12th time Ohio State will compete in ITA Kickoff Weekend (previously known as the ITA National Indoor Qualifier) and the fourth year the Buckeyes are hosting Kickoff Weekend matches; the team was a host site in 2017, ’18 and ’21.
In 2021, Ohio State defeated Syracuse and Virginia to reach ITA National Team Indoors for the fourth time in the last five years.
