COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team was back on the field for the first time since the NCAA championship game on Sunday, competing against the defending MLL champion Ohio Machine as part of the inaugural Ohio Lacrosse Fall Classic at Obetz Field in Columbus.

The day started out with a youth clinic that was attended by approximately 200 kids from Columbus and the surrounding area. Members of the Buckeyes, their coaching staff, and Machine players and coaches served as instructors. Children also had an opportunity to meet members of the both teams and take pictures with the MLL championship trophy and NCAA national finalist trophy.

Following the clinic, the Buckeyes and Machine played an exhibition game that featured MLL rules, including a 60-second shot clock and two-point goal arc. The Machine’s roster featured many familiar faces to Buckeye fans: Austin Shanks, Stefan Schroeder, JT Blubaugh, Ryan Hunter, Eric Fannell, Dominique Alexander, Johnny Pearson and Tyler Pfister.

The Buckeyes’ fall season continues next weekend when they travel to Baltimore, Md. and Calvert Hall to face North Carolina as part of the annual Michael R. Breschi Weekend. Ohio State and UNC scrimmage on Saturday at 6 p.m. and will also take part in a youth clinic at 4 p.m., also on Saturday.
